SOME OF the very real pleasures of my 10 years as Secretary General of the Anglican Communion were the many opportunities to share, for a few days, in regular church life with an Anglican diocese or parish. From that rich and very varied experience I’m often asked which was my favourite place to visit. That’s a hard one, as there are many wonderful parts of the world, but if I alter the question slightly and ask which is the church I most admire, I have no hesitation in saying that it is the Anglican Church of Congo (L’Eglise Anglicane du Congo).
